Gustave Baumann was born in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1891. He received his art education from the Art Institute of Chicago. Baumann moved permanently to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 1918. He travelled throughout the Southwest and California and his prints magnificently capture the beauty, natural and architectural, of the American West.
