Green Building: Recycling Salvaged Building Materials

The reuse of salvaged building materials is a wonderful method of getting quality finishes in an environmentally-friendly way.  Any building material or product that already exists is inherently green since reuse of it does not result in significant additional energy and raw material use.  It also reduces the volume of trash generated by demolition, lowering the environmental impact of new construction.

Salvaged materials are often also key elements in the successful design of a seamless addition to a period style home.
