French Manor house
This project was inspired by manor houses in the Dordogne region of France. The new house sites on a five-acre site in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. F/S Architects was responsible for the architectural design and the interiors, as well as the layout of the gardens and hardscape. The house incorporates a U-shape plan to take advantage of the 360-degree views of the mountains and the Los Angeles Basin. Gracefull interiors embrace the owner's Louis XV-style family heirlooms, while simultaneously creating comfortable rooms for the family’s daily activities. The gardens radiate from all sides of the house creating a variety of outdoor spaces, including a formal French garden, vegetable garden, swimming pool, terrace, and a large terrace and lawn off the family room.
