A Georgian Renovation, Bronxville, NY

The restoration and addition to this rustic Georgian house built in 1936 near Sarah Lawrence College included the restoration of the deteriorated front porch. A new Palladian window for the Master Bedroom installed into the stone wall above the Living Room bay window was inspired by the existing Palladian window at the main stair on the front elevation.

The original Kitchen and service area at the rear of this eclectic Georgian house were a rabbit-warren of small dark rooms. Updating this area, F/S Architects completely removed all the existing partitions and created a large sunny Kitchen with a new bay window and an adjacent Breakfast Area and Family Room. The custom woodwork includes Robert Adam-inspired Georgian details such as ellipical arches, columns and carved details to coordinate with the original house details. The arched windows of the Family Room addition look out over the pool terrace.

F/S Architects was responsible for the interior design and decoration for this project as well as the architectural design.
